Lorenzo appeared dominant in the season. He became world champion with a record of won the race six times, nine times finishing as the runner-up, and only twice failed to reach the finish line.
Ahead of the passing of the new season, Lorenzo already has a shadow who will be his rivals. The 25-year rider called his teammate, Valentino Rossi, and the two Honda riders Dani Pedrosa and Marc Marquez, who he predicted would make the race more difficult this time.
"There were other good riders-riders like Dani (Pedrosa), (Marc) Marquez, and (Valentino) Rossi. Definitely would be a lot of pressure," said Lorenzo to herald the sidelines of the launch of the new Yamaha logo at the Four Season Hotel, Kuningan, Jakarta, Friday (01/25/2013) noon CST.
Although he predicts the 2013 season will run tighter, Lorenzo remains optimistic he will be able to defend his world title.
"We (Team Yamaha) was very confident (able to defend his world title.) Physically and personally, I am more confident after won the world championship title last season," added Lorenzo.
"We have a great chance to become world champion again," he said.
